They will be using again the new on line Registration which is available NOW. For more information contact Jim Criger - Event Director. Plan on attending and sign up now to get Early Rates. Competition:
We will be offering Competition in All ACDA Divisions. Couples, Pro/Am, Pro/Pro and Line Dance. Also they plan on have an Jack and Jill Swing. All Country Couples Divisions will dance Sunday.

What: ACDA Dancer Information Workshop/ACDA Judge Licensing/Training

Date: Saturday, June 1, 2013

Registration: Sign in between 8am and 8:30am

Time: 8:30am to 5:30pm Training Workshop, test will be available at the end of the class or can be taken on Sunday morning for those wanting to continue the process!

Cost: $80 for workshop and $20 for test (optional)
If you can just attend Saturday morning only $30, Saturday afternoon only $50

Where: Connection Dance Studio, 508 ½ Joplin Street, Joplin, MO.

NOTE:
The workshop is for all dancers! Students, Instructors, Pros, Current Judges, or Future Judges will benefit from this workshop and anyone interested in improving their dance knowledge and/or those wishing to become an ACDA Licensed Judge. This is an excellent class, that has hints, technique, demonstrations, history, judge expectations, and dance updates. Bring your note pads as there will be a lot of information. We will take a lunch break around 12 or 12:30. This workshop will cover the judging criteria for all eight dances and will include the information necessary to pass the Licensing test. Tutoring will be available after the workshop!

Anyone that has attended any past workshops and paid for the exam can take it at this workshop or at any upcoming ACDA event.

Whats New for 2013:

Cut off times for registration for our "country competitions" entries will be at 5 p.m. the Wednesday before the event, swing registrations will be accepted after this date.

Judge license process description and application will be added to ACDA website.

ACDA will advance both 2nd and 1st place winners to the next level if there are 10 or more competitors in their division at Nationals. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will advance if there are 15 or more competitors, and so on.

GG advancement: If a Pro Am student receives a majority medal placement of Gold Graduate in all five of the required dances at two (2) events during the year, they must advance to the next level at the next event. The competitor must stay at that level for the remainder of the year and dance the National Championships at that level.

ACDA will change their competition music format to consist of randomly played songs appropriate to each division to consist of similar BPM and selected by the D.J. or event director. Music warm-ups for Novice divisions and above will be randomly selected for each heat. Warm-up music for Newcomer and Pre-newcomer will preview the music to be used in their divisions.
